Kaitlyn "Katie" Haak

Clinician

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My name is Katie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Since 2017 I have worked as a therapist in various environments, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds. My approach as a therapist is rooted in Humanistic Theory, focusing on your inner wisdom and insight as a unique individual, and meeting you where you are at with genuine care and respect for who you are as an individual. I use a trauma-informed and client-centered approach, using interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Outside of work I enjoy taking walks, being in nature, listening to music, watching documentaries, reading, and spending time with my family. I love listening to the stories and experiences of others and to fully immerse myself in this joyous, painful and wild experience of life.

Insurances I Accept:

Aetna, BCBS, CHP+, Cigna, Humana, Kaiser, Medicaid, Medicare, Private Pay, and United

How I Work:

I meet every client with humility, curiosity, and compassion. It is my primary aim as a therapist to provide a space for you to be heard and to be understood without judgement, so that trust and authentic connection can develop naturally. It takes courage and vulnerability to allow someone into your inner life and to sit with you in your pain. I acknowledge and honor this courage and vulnerability with patience and with respect for who you are as a person. Therapy is a time and space for you to be heard and seen with genuine care, while your self-knowledge, innate strengths, and inner wisdom guide the process. It is an honor and a privilege to walk alongside you in the therapeutic process.

Adjustment/Change, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Life Stressors, Relationship Stressors, Self-Esteem, Trauma
