Katrina Hamill-Schwank

Graduate Student Intern

I am a graduate student intern working toward my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I believe therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process. My approach is primarily person-centered, while also integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to foster self-awareness, growth, and healing. I strive to create a compassionate and welcoming space where clients feel safe and supported. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, cooking, attending live music events, listening to audiobooks, and spending time with family and friends.

Insurances I Accept:

Aetna, CHP+, Cigna, Medicaid, and Private Pay

How I Work:

I believe therapy should center around empathy, respect, and empowerment. I view my role as walking alongside clients as they navigate challenges, growth, and healing, honoring the idea that each person is the expert on their own life. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported, with a belief that therapy is for everyone. In sessions, I work collaboratively with clients to build healthier coping strategies, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and step into their most authentic selves.
