Patrick Pitchford
Graduate Student Intern
My name is Patrick Pitchford and I have been a Colorado resident since 1995. I love Colorado for its beautiful mountains, sunny days, and expansive prairies. I am a graduate student at CCU for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, focused specifically on marriage and family therapy. I believe that every individual, couple, or family has strengths and resources that they can use to overcome their struggles and create solutions that can lead to the outcomes they want. As a counselor who uses Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and an integrative approach, I believe my job is to help clients discover and rediscover those strengths and put them into practice. When I am not working, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, playing video games, or getting outside into nature.
Insurances I Accept:
Aetna, CHP+, Cigna, Medicaid, and Private Pay
How I Work:
My philosophy about therapy is a little like a road trip. I believe that individuals, couples, and families often begin the road trip with a destination in mind, but sometimes they get lost on the way or run into unexpected car trouble. As a therapist, I believe my role is to be the person who can help look at the map to get the family back on track, or the good Samaritan who can help give the car a jump to get it back on the road. I believe that my clients know, on some level, where they want to go, and I want to be a valuable partner in helping them get there. I strive to create a counseling relationship that is respectful and authentic so we can get to where you want to go.
